BRIXTON SKATE

Portraits of 'Josh & the BMT Skate Crew' in Brixton shot as a personal project. I love to capture raw: un-staged, gritty moments of people loving life. The skatepark is located close to Brixton Academy & was originally built in 1978 on the former site of the Brixton Tabernacle Baptist Church. Since becoming a skatepark it has reached legendary status & is affectionately known as Stockwell Sands or Brixton Beach. To view more of my recent work: www.mattstansfield.co.uk

Urban Runners Project / Kirby Akindeinde

I recently embarked on a personal project photographing urban runners & trying to understand what really motivates them. Our journey kickstarted with Kirby Akindeinde from W Model management. Kirby qualified as a fitness instructor and is an ex-athlete. Kirby has always had a huge interest in fitness and health, but according to her own blog Tigeress Lifestyle : When it came to deciding what I wanted to do in life, I chose fashion & moved to London 6 years ago where I studied Fashion Management at London College of Fashion before moving on to work in menswear at online retail giant ASOS. I loved it there, but knew that I still wanted to incorporate fitness into my routine; it was in 2014 that Tigeress Lifestyle was founded- a fitness and fashion destination for all health conscious (and wanna be health conscious) individuals.

I am continually adding content to the Tigeress Lifestyle blog and this hard work eventually paid off & landed a life-changing role in an international sporting campaign. Now I am modelling and blogging full time, represented by W Models and The Face Paris, the combination of health and fashion is an even greater aspect of my life.
